Our Mudgee obsession (and why we're sure you'll love it too!)

We're excited to share a little piece of our world here at Wandarra Homestead with you. Think of this as your inside scoop on all things Mudgee!

For those of you who don't know our story, it all started about four years ago when my sister, Angela, and I fell hard for Mudgee. This beautiful country town, with its rolling hills, stunning scenery, and all those amazing family wineries, just stole our hearts. Seriously, we had this feeling that Mudgee was the perfect place to create a beautiful getaway where friends and family could come together for special occasions, or just escape the everyday craziness of life. 

We'll never forget that first drive along Lue Road. It was like discovering our own little slice of heaven, which we now call Wandarra Homestead. We'd had a relaxed breakfast in town, and a local told us we had to drive home via Rylstone. The scenic drive through the rolling hills was just magical. And then, cresting the hill near Tongbong Road (just past Wandarra), an expansive view opened up that just took our breath away! We've driven back up there many times to capture the stunning sunsets and panoramic vistas. We knew right away that we'd found somewhere special.

Over the past few years, we've really fallen in love with the Mudgee region. From the wineries where you can relax with a glass of local wine and a cheese platter without feeling rushed, to the amazing national parks and delicious food, the Mudgee Region has it all.

• The Great Outdoors: Lace up your hiking boots and wander bush tracks shaded by wattle trees in winter, explore the magic of Ferntree Gully, or soak up summer with tranquil swimming spots and peaceful kayaking adventures. Adventure awaits! 

• Country Charm: There are five towns to explore in the region, and Wandarra is ideally located between our two favourites, Mudgee and Rylstone! Browse the boutiques and discover hidden gems, from locally made gifts and homewares to mouthwatering local produce. Shop 'til you drop!
